أخيرا لان قلب الوالد وللفتاة ابتسم ،فكانت في عشقه كالعبد .يذيبها الشوق كالشمع الملتهب بين يدي العهد والسرف.
قست الظروف ، قل المال وساء بالولد الحال فترنح الفؤاد بين السجائر و اقداح الخمور .بعد صحوه من ثمله ، قسى قلب الولد ،خان الوعد فرمى بفتاة باشواك الوردي ،خلف قضبان السك وسوء الظنون همست له بصوت حنون :كيف لتلك العينان ان تخون واحضان ملاكي ملى بالحروب وأنا المنفي والحب في قلبي معقود .
