Poème de Samar Souli

Poem by Samar Souli :  If I tell all my secrets to one person they’d go mad; I’m hard to swallow,  If someone takes me for a remodel, they’d go insane, I’m hard to follow...

Beneath the scenery of my delight, I sneak a peak and I run faster than the light, I am my best friend and my biggest enemy, You might put all your trust in me, or of it think I’m unworthy, It’s enough to know the possibility of thinking of me, Some people think smart is sexy, ... If I tell all my secrets to one person they’d go mad; I’m hard to swallow

If someone takes me for a remodel, they’d go insane, I’m hard to follow

Beneath the scenery of my delight

I sneak a peak and I run faster than the light

I am my best friend and my biggest enemy

You might put all your trust in me, or of it think I’m unworthy

It’s enough to know the possibility of thinking of me

Some people think smart is sexy

Cowards think smart is scary

I think smart is visionary

To myself I am a challenge; A race…

Bargains unsettled for, adrenalin I embrace.

By the end of the day, a dancer in the dark

A soft light, on the wall paint a shadow shark..

To voodoo music dance and dance

Reaching my illusionary trance

Loving the purity of the little movie played on the white wall

Spinning like a child loving the image until I fall

Slow movements of indelicate hands; a failure ballerina

An ungraceful belly dancer, a perfect Proserpina

Then burst with rising laughter and desperate looks

As fragile, depression settlement, flee to the dusty books

Some call it crazy; some call it wild, some call it joy

All I know in my hidings, I’ve been the prince of troy

You might never understand the importance of the scene in hand

But in those naked moments I’m self assured: I am my best friend…
