Forced Labyrinth

poetry-tunisia-englishSamar Souli

As a leaf falls on its own in the fall
As a tree grows on its own proud and tall
The duets are an illusion upon the heart
To be heard by a beat while we’re told apart

An endless tunnel I have you like a needle in my skin
Regardless how hard I try to sound strong and swallow the grin
An empty shell in surface but weighs a whale
For a smile covers a thousand stories to tell

To bargain it or silence it in a rush
Take the wind for a comfort or hush
The eager to live in a hurry as it may end
Your body gets tattooed by bruises to mend

No need to search for a closure to set a start
For the cycle on its own sets its rules before you
No need for you to pretend understanding your heart
It started beating before the settlement got true
